Certification is the process in which the league (TYFA) verifies all players to ensure they are the correct age and playing/cheering with the correct age groups. It is MANDATORY that all players/cheerleaders be in attendance in order to get certified to play in TYFA.
We ask that all parents/guardians please stay for the duration of the certification. Please DO NOT drop off your child as we hope to be in and out of the building quickly.

- original birth certificate
- military ID
- state ID OR passport
SPECIAL NOTE: Official Birth Certificate from the Vital Statics Office is the only type of birth certificate accepted. Not the one from the Hospital with the baby feet on it.
Before we go through certification, there are a number of steps that need to be completed by each parent/guardian of each player. We will have all our rosters uploaded into the TYFA database by Friday afternoon. Please be sure to check your email as you will receive a verification email from TYFA once your child’s info is uploaded into the TYFA Online Certification System.
Once you have received the email, you will need to complete a few steps to verify your player’s information as well as sign the participation contract. If you do not receive an email by 3PM Friday afternoon, please send us an email ASAP.

The steps in the email need to be completed NO LATER than Monday, March 23.
SPECIAL NOTE: There is a certification fee of $15. Team Managers will be collecting these along with your player’s birth certificate over the next few weeks.
Please read and follow the instructions below carefully so you don’t miss anything.
Instructions to complete the online certification:
- The email you will receive will be titled: athlete password creation.
Click on the link in that email to activate your account. It will take you to a webpage where you need to create a password and log you into the system. PLEASE write and remember your password.
- Once you are in, please click the more information link to enter the dashboard of your player/cheerleader’s profile account.
- At this time, please completed steps 1 & 3. (Steps 2 & 4 are not activated for the Spring Season -so payment will be need to be made to the organization)
Please make sure you see this after completing the contract. This will complete your player’s profile.
